If Quiet is the New Loud, then quieter must be the new quiet, which is what we’ve discovered on Kings of Convenience’s third studio album, Declaration of Dependence. The album is a slight departure from the danceable pop sounds we heard in Riot On An Empty Street, but continues to execute on what the Norwegian singer-songwriter, Orlend Oye delivers best – beautiful, minimalist, folk pop with tender vocals and intricate guitar melodies. Me In You and Mrs. Cold are just a couple fine examples of this quiet, precision songwriting, but don’t take our word for it. Find out what your favorites are and stream the entire album here.
