West Palm Beach rockers, Surfer Blood are the latest indie sensations to make waves on the music scene. Their fresh new single “Swim” is a catchy throw back number that’s blended with distorted guitars and post-punk choruses that is proof that the 90s are valiantly back again. Though the band is said to draw influences from southern writers like Flannery O’Connor and other “female authors,” it’s possible that they’ve enjoyed a few Guided by Voices records which resinates in their sound.
Surfer Blood’s forthcoming album Astro Coast is due out on January 19th, so keep your eyes peeled for Jaws. Funny side note: though they are Floridians, none of the band’s members know how to surf!
