The Eels were formed by singer/songwriter Mark Oliver Everett, better known as E. The other members rotate frequently, both in the studio and on stage. The new album “End Times” is the bands eighth album and is nothing short of a songwriting masterpiece, which many critics have said is their best album yet. The album was mostly recorded on a four-track recorder by E in his LA basement and is based on the themes of broken love and E’s divorce; it’s a ‘divorce album’ with a modern twist: the artist equates his personal loss with the world he lives in losing its integrity. Three of the album tracks—”Little Bird”, “In My Younger Days”, and “A Line In the Dirt”—were made available as music videos or promotional downloads prior to the release of the album.
“End Times” takes the listener on an emotionally haunting and tragic journey, through heartbreak and depression, but is a beauftiful trip that needs to be taken. Click here to listen to the album www.playme.com/eels.
